Still Growin’

DSCN8096

We are still eating out of garden.  Granted, it helps that we live in the Pacific Northwest where Winters can be fairly mild, but we also plan for the seasonal dearth of fresh vegetables by planting for some late season harvesting.  Brussels sprouts, parsnips, chard, carrots, and sorrel are all still going strong even though we’ve had a few frosts, cold nights and many grey, wet days.  It does become a bit of a battle to protect these tasty green things from the chickens who SO want to scale the fences and barriers to get to where the growing plants are!
