Hyperbole aside, we really do have a super easy recipe for a delicious, customizable ham glaze that will make your holiday hams the talk of the table! Here’s all you need:
1 part Sweet (jam, jelly, honey)
1 part Mustard (homemade, stoneground, Dijon-style, etc.)
Mix these two ingredients together and spread about half over ham prior to cooking. If you’d like to score and stud with whole cloves or cover with pineapple, that’s fine too. Bake ham at 325 degrees and baste every fifteen minutes or so with the remaining glaze. Bake until heated through and the glaze is dark, golden, and well adhered. Let rest for 10 minutes or so before slicing.
When working with recipes calling for “parts”–decide how much you need to end up with, say 2-3 cups for a large ham, and figure out your quantities from there. For this recipe, you can measure exactly or just estimate equal parts sweet stuff with the mustard.
